2901 Bridgewater Place: This High-rolling Penthouse Gets Help From Stories FlooringWritten by: Yarl Christie
When Playboy and entrepreneur Dave Matthews called upon Stories Flooring to help furnish his ultra-swank penthouse apartment, naturally we rose to the challenge. Perched atop the lofty heights of Bridgewater Place in central Leeds, The Penthouse 2901 is the quintessential bachelor pad.
Awash with luxurious décor that references everything from The Godfather to Bond, the penthouse boasts jaw-dropping 180-degree panoramic views across the city and West Yorkshire. The spacious open plan living area is reminiscent of the kind of bar and lobby area you’d find in one of Dubai’s iconic 7-star hotels and can comfortably entertain a sizable number of guests.
Blessed with opulent light fixtures and an oil slick black desk that wouldn’t look out of place in Don Corleone’s office, this multi-purpose pad is perfect for work, rest, and play. The kitchen is kitted out with top of the range appliances and features a breakfast bar which doubles up as a cocktail making station.
Limitless design budget
With a limitless design budget at his disposal, Dave wanted to capture a look that was both classic and timeless, with a bold sense of modernity. He did this by importing some breathtakingly beautiful furniture from Italy, which is peppered throughout the home, alongside a carefully curated collection of fine art.
The result is a space that has a feeling of glamour and decadence throughout. When the brief landed on our desk asking us to put the finishing touches to this flawless pad, we set out to find the perfect carpet to complement its unique character.
After much debate, our interior design experts decided upon Stories Envy with its rich beige texture. Strong and durable yet super-soft to the touch, this deluxe carpet is stylish and subtle, allowing the impressive living space interiors to do most of the talking.
The very same plush flooring solution takes on a whole new persona in the apartments two large bedrooms, however, where its cosiness shines through. Each complete with an en-suite bathroom, this area of the penthouse is much more calm and serene. The carpet goes really well with the LVT in the kitchen.
Speaking of the penthouse and the refurbishment project, Dave said:
‘’I always saw the Bridgewater Place Penthouse as the ultimate bachelor pad, somewhere that was primarily to entertain, but at the same time homely. I think we’ve achieved that. The opulent interiors and oversized living space are perfect for hosting cocktail parties and offers up city views that even the best local bars and hotels can’t compete with.
‘’Stories really helped us put the finishing touches into what is in my opinion, an amazing apartment. The Envy carpet adds a slight touch of softness and femininity into what is primarily a gentleman’s paradise. It will make for an amazing home to whoever decides to purchase, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a main home. It’s a place to make memories.’’
The development itself is blessed with an impressive array of amenities, including a 24-hour gym, hair salon, sushi bar, Starbucks, and a supermarket. Penthouse 2901 also comes with two private car parking spaces and is just a stone throw away from Leeds City Station and the popular Granary Wharf district.
The Penthouse is on the market via Knight Frank for a cool £795,000 and is available to view now.
